Holiday and Year-Round Giving

Holiday and Year-Round Giving - Child and Elder PhotoI am always humbled by the generosity of our donors during the holiday season. National Relief Charities understands the importance of providing special services around the holidays to enable communities on remote reservations to come together and celebrate the season. We want to provide just the right gift to children, give some measure of comfort and holiday cheer to elders, bring community members together around a special meal – generally decrease the stress and increase the joy of the season.

Holiday and Year-Round Giving - Happy HolidaysIt is a privilege to be able to respond to hundreds of additional requests from our reservation Partner agencies during this time of year. We are grateful that our financial supporters also respond to make this support possible. For the 2013 holiday season, NRC will provide 54,578 children’s stockings, elder gifts and meals to 141 reservation communities.

NRC’s regular services also continue during this time of year. Only one of the humanitarian support organizations that works in Indian country, NRC knows the significant needs that persist throughout the year… the need for nutritious food, medical supplies, education and home repairs.

Holiday and Year-Round Giving - Medical Teams IntlNRC is committed to being an important resource to our reservation Program Partners 365 days a year. We are especially grateful to the many contributors who support us in doing this. For 2013, we would especially like to acknowledge the support of Medical Teams International, which provided several truckloads of high-quality personal care and over-the-counter medical products to meet the needs of the people we serve. It is through Medical Teams and other gift-in-kind and individual supporters that NRC can meet its mission and improve quality of life for 250,000 Native Americans each year.
